Workshop Of The World

Back in the day, my current home in Birmingham was often referred to as the “Workshop of the World”, largely due to being at the forefront of the Industrial Revolution.

While my history isn’t that good, it seems that the industrial revolution instigated some positive effects (such as the transfer of knowledge, technological innovation, etc), whilst also producing some very negative effects as well.

These days our main technological innovation (i.e the internet) allows us to share our knowledge much more easily with each other.

So what might our “Workshop of the World” look like today?

Well i’d very much like to find out, so from May i’m going out onto the streets of Birmingham to ask the humans what their top 5 tips are on something they enjoy. Top tips or messages of inspiration.

I’ve also enlisted the help of a local tv crew who will be asking revellers at our next events,

and of course, i would very much like to know what yours might be?

How to share yours?

Simply drop us an email to mrelephantpresents@gmail.com, with any tips that you have found inspiring or useful.

Please include your name, your location, and your website (if you would like people to visit it), and any images, video or links you want to include.

Why share ?

1. Sharing information facilitates evolution, and inspires others.

2. Sharing something that you’ve found useful or inspiring is a nice way of introducing yourself to your community.

3. There are a wealth of how to sites and video’s, but sharing something you know locally can create new networks or opportunities in the future.

4. Its an opportunity to post a link to your website in a more engaging way.

5. Because there are a wealth of useful and inspiring things that happen everyday.

This is kind of an experiment, but one we hope will make our site somewhere that you like to keep updated with

On the subject of sharing information, we do offer various free (unfunded) workshops to enable you to interact or perform at our events, and are currently working on a more comprehensive Mr Elephant programme of Workshops from our network of individuals later this year.

If you’d like to discuss hosting a workshop, or are interested in being part of our events in some way, please feel free to get in touch.
